Abstract
Aspergillus fumigatus is one of the most prevalent fungal pathogens has a worldwide distribution in patients with hematological malignancy. The patients infected with A. fumigatus have a high risk of the development of various diseases including often fatal invasive aspergillosis (IA). The insufficiency of traditional cultural and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) methods in diagnostics of IA makes some investigators to apply more sensitive technologies, such as PCR. Recently new approaches to standardization of quantitative aspergillosis evaluation by using PCR were elucidated. It is allowed to carry out comparative definition of aspergillosis in hematological patients by using the both tests, PCR and ELISA Platelia Aspergillus. Analysis showed expediency of the combined test for detection of galactomannan antigen and DNA target copies of A. fumigatus. Moreover, Q-PCR assay is able to improve the diagnosis of IA in hematological malignancy patients including those who underwent high-dose chemotherapy and/or hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT).References
