Abstract
This paper analyzes the factors that determine long-term results of surgical treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer without evidence of metastatic involvement of mediastinal lymph nodes (pN0-N1). For these patients a surgical method is the first and basic step in treatment but a survival rate of patients after such operations varies widely. The results of our study have showed that the best long-term results are achieved with the correct preoperative and intraoperative N-staging, low SUV of a primary tumor, the lack of RFP accumulation in the mediastinum at PET as well as in case of surgery from the thoracoscopic approach.References
