Abstract

There was studied material of primary tumors from 140 patients with adenocarcinoma of the colon to determine the expression of thymidylate synthetase (TS), thymidine phosphorylase (TP), dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase, ERCC-1, beta-tubulin III, topoisomerase-II-alpha, Ki-67. Comparison of the clinical picture and the results of immunohistochemistry were performed to 104 patients with adenocarcinoma of the colon who had undergone chemotherapy by FOLFOX, de Gramont, FOLFIRI schemes. The objective response in the presence of TP expression and absence of TS was 39%, the reverse combination (TS expression and no TP) was 13%. Other markers showed no correlation with the occurrence of disease progression and response rate.
