Abstract
Gastric cancer remains a leading cause of oncological morbidity and mortality. Surgical treatment continues to be the primary radical method, while the laparoscopic approach, despite its proven advantages, has technical limitations. Robot-assisted surgery is regarded as a means to overcome these limitations. The aim of this review was to conduct a comparative analysis of perioperative and long-term outcomes of robot-assisted distal gastrectomy (RADG) and laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG) based on current scientific evidence. A systematic search of publications was performed in the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases. According to data from randomized controlled trials, RADG demonstrates comparable or superior short-term outcomes to LDG, including reduced intraoperative blood loss and faster postoperative recovery. The question of the potential superiority of the robot-assisted technique in terms of long-term oncological efficacy (survival) remains open and requires further investigation through large-scale, multicenter randomized trials
