Abstract
A 64-year-old woman with a 9-cm advanced tumor in the left moiety of a horseshoe kidney was treated through a laparoscopic approach. The left part of kidney had 3 arteries (2 from aorta, 1 from left common iliac artery) and 5 veins. A pre-operative kidney computed tomography angiography revealed the invasion in lumbar and iliac muscles. Clamping of blood vessels was performed and isthmus was dissected with bipolar hook and Simon Renal Pole Clamp®. Renal parenchyma sutured with Vicryl 2-0 filament. Removal of locally advanced tumor was performed with 10-mm Ligasure®. Laparoscopic heminephrectomy are safe and efficient treatment method of horseshoe kidney tumors in case of proper approach according to the location of the lesion and the surgeon>s experience.References
