Abstract
The most common cause of ureteral defects is iatrogenic injury. In oncology practice, gynecological operations and radiotherapy are main contributors to the development of ureteral defects (70 % cases). Today, there are various options for ureter diagnosis and reconstruction, from the formation of routine end-to-end anastomosis to the usage of intestinal and other grafts. In the article, we provide a brief literature review on this issue and systematize the main recommendations for urethroplasty.
